LaBar Golf to Renovate Bloomfield Hills Country Club

LaBar Golf is excited to take on a major renovation of Bloomfield Hills Country Club’s Harry Colt-designed golf course.

The project is set to begin in the fall of 2020 and will be finished by the following spring of 2021.

LaBar Golf will work to preserve the club’s old-country heritage. The irrigation system will be replaced, as well as several other upgrades, including replacing and reshaping bunkers. The third hole will also be converted from a 400-yard par 4 to a long 225-year par 3. The 4th hole will also be lengthened and will remain a par 4.

General manager of the club, Jared Chorney, said that they are “approaching our cap,” as memberships continue to grow and the new course will only add more interest.

The Bloomfield Hills course is the only one in the country left that was designed solely by Colt, a renowned English golf course architect. He has designed over 300 courses around the world and finished designing the Bloomfield Hills course in 1912.
