Kalamazoo Country Club is building an 11-hole short course (2026) and 18-hole championship course (2027), designed by Andrew Green, to become a premier golf destination in Southwest Michigan.
A bold new chapter in Midwest golf is underway at Kalamazoo Country Club (KCC), where construction has begun on an 11-hole short course as part of a sweeping golf expansion designed by acclaimed architect Andrew Green. This transformation also includes Green’s first original 18-hole championship course, slated to open in 2027.
The project cements KCC’s commitment to becoming a premier golf destination in Southwest Michigan, with a reimagined 145-acre property and upgraded amenities designed to attract players from across the country.
“This is a golf cathedral,” said Green, who has been closely involved on-site, personally shaping several holes. “Kalamazoo is going to have a course that’s memorable—not just new.”
Highlights of the Expansion:
- 11-hole short course opening in spring 2026, featuring two creative loops (Blue and Red) for fast, flexible play
- 18-hole championship course opening in spring 2027
- 30% increase in green space, from 83,000 to 117,000 sq. ft.

The 11-hole short course offers an approachable and strategic playing experience for golfers of all skill levels. Divided into two distinct loops, it’s designed to encourage casual, creative rounds and fast-paced play—ideal for both practice and family fun.
Meanwhile, the new 18-hole course is being crafted to host top amateur tournaments, with Green maximizing the natural contours of the site to deliver a course that is as challenging as it is scenic.

KCC’s investment in elite training continues through its Golf Performance Center, which includes:
- Four TrackMan hitting bays
- Two teaching studios
- PuttView technology for real-time putting feedback
- A 30,000-sq.-ft. putting green, expanded driving range, and dedicated short-game area
